Amy’s Birthday

For my sister’s birthday I was challenged to make a cake that wasn’t too ‘pretty’ because that is simply not her style. I decided on a monochrome exterior in one of her favourite colours, forest green, and a checkerboard interior because she’s a little punk. This was my first time attempting a checkerboard cake and I learned that preciseness is key - it wasn’t perfect but the overall effect was still really fun to cut into.
