Spring Garden Cake

I made this cake for no good reason shortly after my April’s Baker course (See Coquette cake). I wanted to practice my newly learned skills in piping, colouring and Swiss meringue buttercream.

I learned I am too heavy handed with food colouring and that my piping has a long way to go, but I still love the joy radiating off this cake. The colours and flowers were inspired by my sister Layla’s garden in Oxford where I made it - and put it in the grass to photograph :)
